This might be just an isolated case but one poor soul was tricked into losing their unlimited data plan. According to the screenshot and link, a Verizon sales rep told a customer that since they were eliminating unlimited data in June of 2013 they might as well switch to pooled data now.
That doesn’t make any sense at all. Its like knowing that there is plenty of water but soon it will be rationed out. Do you drink all you can now or do you start the rationing now? Of course any logical person would drink all they can until told not to. That should be the same with data.
Cutting your unlimited data plan to share it instead is the wrong choice seen at any angle.
Now in the consumer’s defense, sells reps are trained to make the illogical sound practical. Stop my unlimited data? Sure! We probably don’t use that much anyway, right? You can’t be too mad at the rep since they get extra commission for new or changed packages.
I just hope what was said was totally untrue. To have Verizon do that next year would really deflate the quadcore Androids and what they can do technology wise. What do you think, will Verizon change their data plans come next June?
