Here at Are you an android dot com, we pride ourselves on educating the consumer who has questions about Android and it’s worth. Sometimes we have to straddle the fence between loving android and hating android. Being honest in a dishonest world isn’t easy so sometimes you get the best points from the most non-obvious places. A fellow writer turned Mobile tech Laureate, MG Siegler, has made a lot of valid points in his backhanded insult to Android and it’s environment. I recommend clicking the link below and reading it but here is the reaction it recieved on Google Plus when I re-posted it:
Funny isn’t it? The argument is that Android has sold out and Google’s original mission to make the Mobile world free has backfired. Has it? Maybe we are being shortsighted when it comes to the potential of Android. It has allowed prepaid carriers to have super smartphones that a few years ago were unattainable.
Maybe the myopic US view isn’t showing the whole picture. Judging by my website stats alone, Mexico and Japan are greatly interested in Android and they are not enslaved to carriers the way we are. Let us know if you feel Android id hated because it’s so easy to get or if it is because of what the carriers still charge for it…
Read parislemon • Why I Hate Android.

All the hate towards Android just shows you just how popular it has become. That’s why Apple is so scared of it, doing everything they can do bury the competition in courts instead of on the “streets”
You can definitely see the fear disguised as hate…

Hate? Not sure.
It’s not so much hate as payback. As a person who has used iOS products from the start, I was preached at that:
a) I was a sheep.
b) My phone was a pile of crap and, by extension, I was a pile of crap for liking it.
c) Google will change the world and make it rainbows and farting unicorns.
Android has to potential to own the mobile space, no question, but it has gone from a mouse to the elephant in the room. When it walks, the ground shakes. It’s movements will shape the mobile space for decades to come, so you’re gonna have to suck it up and realise that being king of the hill means you’re the person who’s gonna get the flac.
Since Android has more handsets and users, by extention, the number of users affected grows. Microsoft cops more flac cause they have a larger customer base. When they break something, LOTS of people know.
If you ever, EVER made fun of an iOS device becuase some marketing person used the word “Magical” in a keynote, please excuse me if I don’t shed a tear when your feelings are hurt. This isn’t a hippie love fest, it’s consumer electronics.
Hrmm so you are saying the popular guys get the girls and the enemies?
