The latest news today is that the FBI has found elaborate plans to attack our androids via fishing emails and unsafe websites. Also ads that offer get rich quick schemes now push bad software to your phone as well as your computer.

Avoid clicking on or otherwise downloading software or links from unknown sources. Use the same precautions on your mobile phone as you would on your computer when using the Internet.

This is not new to most computer users. We are attacked daily via email and pop ups on websites. To save ourselves from trouble we install anti-virus and anti-malware programs. Will that be needed for our smartphones too?

Sadly, due to greedy bad guy hackers, we now have to equip our mobile devices with ways to protect ourselves. Some will install anti virus apps. Others will simply encrypt their data. I’ve tried both and encryption seems easier if you have android 4.0 or higher. At any rate please be wise and remember we are carrying around mobile pc’s in our pockets…
