I know at this point you are wondering about my obsession with Mediatek. Honestly it is because I believe great technology should be in the hands of the many and not just the few. Mediatek is really trying hard to make affordable chips for our mobile phones and I personally appreciate that.
Back on July the rumor was that MTK has quadcore chips coming out by the end of this year:
“According the news, the new MT6585 chip will launch at the end of this year. This chip is made by 28nm manufactur technology. This chip not only built GPU inside, also integrade a touch panel control chip. It will be innovation and will decrease smartphone cost.”
If the above is true that means two things come January- Quadcore Androids are going to explode in numbers in 2013 and Dualcore Androids are going to get even cheaper! I can’t wait to see what Samsung, Motorola, HTC,Lg and others will have for us come the new year. What do you think?
