If you have recently updated to the latest Android 4.0.3 update, you may notice a significant battery drain. Is there a fix? Here is what one seasoned Android user noticed on Google Plus:
Running android 4.0.3, ICS, on your android device? notice that your battery is draining faster than it should? notice a high cpu usage %? well, turn off your auto-rotate and you should see a difference. here are two screenshots from my nexus s running stock(w/root) android 4.0.3, one is with aut-rotate disabled, and one is with auto-rotate enabled. notice a difference in the cpu usage %? it is immense!
Is there a fix for this yet? No, but rest assured Google will get whiff of this and improve battery life in the next Android 4.0.4 update.
