If you look at the timeline, it’s kinda easy putting the Android progression puzzle together.

By the time Matias Duarte the now Lead Android Designer came to Google, Honeycomb or Android 3.0 was almost ready. He really didn’t have a chance to put his designer mark on it like he wanted to. Having Jean-Baptise Quero say the above confirms it too.
So now that Matias has a little more time to start from scratch with ICS what do we expect? All of the cool 3D widgets of Honeycomb plus detailed design upgrades. They even created a new font called “Roboto” just for the new version.

Honestly I think Honeycomb looks pretty good compared to Gingerbread and Froyo but seeing how satisfied they are with Ice Cream Sandwich, this might be the best performing and looking version of Android yet…
