Had a telling conversation with a developer about android and those who make apps for it. They said that while at a developer’s conference most moaned when it was time to talk about android. They mentioned that java itself is a headache to code and Google has no quality control procedures. They also mentioned the issue of each new android version breaking your app because of them letting certain aspects die on the vine, as it were.
Why should the avaerage android user care about this? Becuase we deserve the same amount of games and apps that iOS has. Since I have had a limited experience with Java and coding for Android, understandably it all looks very overwhelming to me. However when stats like in the link below says most developers will create apps for the iPad next year instead of android, wow. Maybe CyanogenMod.com and devs who frequent xda-developers.com make it look easier than it really is.
Hopefully android 4.0 and it’s unifying qualities will win some back. Once every new tablet and smartphone get ice cream sandwich in 2012, fragmentation will be a thing of the past. I really find it amazing how most complaints and praise mirror the Windows operating system. They say its infested with viruses, clunky and a headache to write programs for. Is it that they fear android will be everywhere like windows is? Really, what computer are you reading this from? It’s probably from windows and if you say mac you probably dual-boot it with windows. The fear of Android being the same monster is real but shunning it will only make it angrier. Lol, get it? Angry robots? Never mind.
