I am not surprised nor impressed with the revamped app named Color. Clearly I’m joking. I haven’t ever seen this kind of tech since Tokyo Drift, you know, the movie. Remember when they were racing and everyone was watching the video on their phones? Yeah, I’ve been chasing that dream since they showed it and no one has perfected that feel yet.
Being able to share a video message, sure that’s not new. How about qik? Ever since Robert Scoble started giving live video interviews with Nokia we saw the potential. Something was missing but it wasn’t the tech. Skype perfected it but still the social aspect was missing. Ustream? Socialtoo?
There has to be a central point as well as remote viewers. Somewhere that already has millions of viewers. It looks like Facebook fits that bill but why only thirty seconds of shared streaming time via mobile? Is that so we won’t share the NBA playoffs? Or the black eyed peas? Is color afraid of getting sued if a Shinee fan shares the concert with those who couldn’t make it?
Well I’m just glad the tech has arrived and my smartphone along with the data plan is fast enough to deliver it. Copy and paste the link below to try it for yourself.
