If there ever was a coxswain today, Android would be it. Through the murky smartphone waters no one has a bigger following be it mainstream or developer wise. The latest stats say half of America owns a smartphone. Guess which kind do they probably have. Could it be a windows 8 phone? Oh wait they haven’t come out yet. How about BlackBerry 10? Nope, not until next year. iPhone 5? Not until this September. Wow, then what Device has the latest mobile operating system? Oh wait, the Nexus Seven Tablet does. And so does the Galaxy Nexus, Motorola Tab and Galaxy S models.
Starting yesterday about 45 existing devices can have Android 4.0.4 thanks to the CyanogenMod team. A stable release of Android 4.1.1 is not far behind. No vaporware here folks. The tech iOS is going to show will already be a year old and in most of the existing android phones, can’t wait.
